On July 9 , the Los Angeles Lakers reversed and defeated the San Antonio Spurs. Although the Spurs maintained their lead in the first three quarters, the Lakers fought back in the final quarter and finally won an exciting victory with a score of 89 to 88 thanks to the outstanding performance of Darius Bazley.

In the first quarter, the Spurs led slightly by 23 to 22. Riley Minix of the Spurs and Bazley of the Lakers both scored 8 points and performed actively. Entering the second quarter, the Spurs' core David Jones scored 10 points in a single quarter , and the Lakers' Cole Swider also contributed 11 points. At the end of the half, the Spurs still led by 3 points with 45 to 42 .
